The Premier League, also known as the English Premier League (EPL), is the top professional football league in England. The league was founded in 1992, after the clubs in the Football League First Division decided to break away from the Football League and form their own league. The Premier League quickly became one of the most popular and lucrative football leagues in the world, attracting some of the best players and teams.
League System
The Premier League features 20 teams, with each team playing 38 matches over the course of a season. At the end of each season, the bottom three teams are relegated to the EFL Championship, while the top four teams qualify for the UEFA Champions League. The fifth and sixth-placed teams qualify for the UEFA Europa League.

The league’s TV rights deal alone is worth billions of pounds, with the majority of matches broadcast on Sky Sports and BT Sport in the UK. The league also attracts a lot of sponsorship and advertising revenue, with many big-name brands partnering with clubs and the league itself.
