History

The Serbian SuperLiga is the top professional football league in Serbia, and it was established in 2006 after the dissolution of the Serbia and Montenegro league. Before the formation of the SuperLiga, the Yugoslav First League and the Serbian and Montenegrin league were the top football leagues in the region.

League System The Serbian SuperLiga follows a double round-robin format, which means that each team plays every other team twice in a season, once at home and once away. At the end of the season, the team with the most points is declared the champion, and the bottom two teams are relegated to the second tier league, the Prva Liga.
