Nine Lions tested Covid-19 positive after the death of lioness in Chennai zoo due to the Covid-19 virus. The blood samples, nasal swab, rectal swab and fecal samples were collected from the eleven lions after showing the symptoms of the infection like coughing and loss of appetite and sent to the National Institute of High Security Diseases (NIHSAD) Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The lions were immediately attended to by the zoo’s in-house veterinary team to tangle the situation
