The West Bengal government led by Mamata Banerjee announced a lockdown for two weeks which will commence from May 16,2021 tomorrow due to the increase in the number of positive cases in the State post election. All the religious places, offices and educational institutions will be strictly closed and prohibited during the lockdown period. The Kolkata Metro will be closed for the two weeks in West Bengal. Essential Services are allowed to work in the state. The shops selling the essential items can be assessed from 7am to 10 am in the morning. The petrol pump and the Banks will be functioning between 10 am to 2 pm.
